Hi Rockstar! Yes you, I see you. Reading, learning, seeking out all the information you can because you know you have something special inside that is dying to get out. You feel it, you dream about it, you try to read everything you can about how to up level your life in order to go after that thing...that dream. I see you. I get it.

BUT...something is still missing. You're still not where you want to be and you're trying to figure out why. You follow all the guru's, you read whatever they suggest you read, you try to follow their tips but it still seems like some people are just lucky and you're not one of them. Does that sound familiar? Why does it seem like some people just have better genes, or a more handsome spouse, or more money?

Now at this point you're asking yourself, where in the hell is this going...I though she said I was a Rockstar.... you are....keep reading!

Of course, you're a flippin' Rockstar. You were created flawlessly! The other reason I know is because you are here, reading this blog, still wanting to learn and grow and figure out how to live your best life. I know because I am YOU. I also want that. We all do.

We are all the same in sooo many ways. Humans are innately caring human beings who truly want the best for ourselves and others.

There are other behaviors that are also very common among all of us. Some of those are stress, fear, resentment, hurt, pain. We start off flawless, shameless, full of life and have no fear. By the time we're mid life, we are pissed, hurt, scared and have no self confidence.

HOWEVER, we also have extremely well built hearts and brains and we can retrain them to love and learn anytime we want!! Isn't that great news? You can change. So if this is true, there isn't anything, ultimately that can really hold you back. You are a ROCKSTAR! You are brilliant. You are love. You are the captain of your own ship. You are the writer of whatever life you want to have. So the million dollar question is....why don't you have it?

This is where a lot of people will say, I'm raising my kids, I'm paying off college, I have too much debt, my boss, my spouse, I'm just not supposed to have anything. I will say it again...you are a ROCKSTAR!!!

You are capable and deserving and smart enough to have whatever you want. Don't ever let me hear you say you don't deserve it or can't have it again! Seriously!!! You just have to get rid of the story you tell yourself as to why you cannot have it. Now stay with me here, I'm going to help you get past this.

I want you to take some time, right now and think back to when you were a little kid. Go to the earliest memory you have of life as a kid having fun, playing outside, laughing and not really knowing anything about life except it was easy and fun.

For the next week I want you to live every day like that kid. Everyday you get up, start off the day with excitement like it's a new day to go play outside, meet people and have fun. I know you have bills and a job and real adult stuff to do, but play along ok?

Allow your brain to dump all of the crap it tries to bring up about life, bills, relationship trouble, etc. For just this one week, just put it on the back burner. I'm not saying don't deal with it, but don't let the thoughts about it creep up every time you slow down for a minute. Because the truth of it is, even when you were a kid, the same threats were in the world. There were still bad guys and threats and relationship issues, you just didn't have the experience of years of the affects of this stuff in your brain so you just didn't worry about it. Live like that for a week.

Here are some examples...

You may be mad at your spouse, but come home and hug him/her anyway.

You co -worker may be an ass, but just for this week, don't talk about him/her, don't avoid him/her....do the opposite of what is your norm. If you don't talk with this person, decide to smile and say Hi this week.

If you have a problem client and it's been weighing on your mind, change your attitude about it and just make your game plan and handle it as if it were not a problem at all. You have to do the work anyway, why dread it and be miserable about it?

The point is to just DECIDE for the next week you will approach everything you need to do without any pre-conceived ideas. Don't judge anything and just handle it. Pretend you get to go on a Caribbean Cruise

to a private island with all the amenities at the end of this week. Keep a level of excitement all week that good things are coming and you aren't going to let anyone tell you otherwise. Life is good. Money is abundant. People are kind.

The point is ROCKSTAR, the only thing stopping you from having your best life are your thoughts about it. STOP saying you can't have it. I don't care what the roadblocks appear to be. We will deal with those later, for now, just believe you can have all that you dream about.

Approach your life with childlike trust and enthusiasm. You were so great when you were younger taking risks, trusting your parents & teachers, making friends, passing tests. Do you remember learning to ride a bike, learning to swim, learn Algebra, kiss for the first time? All of those were huge risks. You could have gotten hurt....physically or mentally, but you did it anyway because you trusted yourself and your parents. Approach your dreams in the same way. Just push the fear aside and pretend you don't know any better and just go for it. What is the worse that can happen? You fail? So what. That happened as a kid too didn't it? You weren't great at every sport you tried but you kept trying until you found out what you were good at.

The journey may turn out different than what you think but just like growing up, it is the only way you learn anything!!!! You have to try it.

Just go for it. Forget being scared. Forget looking silly. Forget fear. At least try it for the next week and see what happens.

I have done this exercise before myself and it helped me stay calm, laugh and get through an entire week happier and helped me realize I can stop my brain from thinking negatively. Of course now I practice it all the time!! It's not that I don't get mad or stressed but when it starts to overwhelm me, I stop, take deep breaths, and think about what is really important and if this thing is really as bad as what I'm making it out to be. I decide to approach it as just one more thing, a little bump in the road and I do what I have to do to get it done. Period.

Find the joy in everyday ROCKSTAR and once you learn to get rid of the limiting thoughts you have, continue to dream the dream and start making steps toward accomplishing it in your life.
